About the event
This course is designed for law enforcement officers who have previously attended a basic de-escalation course. Whether they are street officers, field supervisors, investigators, attorneys, administrators, or any other group within law enforcement. During this course, you will learn a simple framework that will help you apply the basic techniques of de-escalation. This will maximize your opportunity for success all while keeping your officer safety fully intact.
Participants in the course will learn concepts and methods that combine tried and true mental health communication skills with data-driven officer safety tactics. When used in combination together this supports the best opportunity for a positive outcome. support de-escalation efforts when personal connections can be made between officers and subjects.
These attendees will learn how to sanitize the scene, establish a rapport, earn trust, and evolve into acquiescence of the subject. This course is not built on rhetoric and will examine why sometimes de-escalation is not possible or is not the appropriate action.
Officers will receive a certificate of completion for their full attendance at the training session.
